“Be the change and the future you want to see – for it is those crazy enough to think they can change the world, that actually do.”
Independently founded in London in 2013 and a pioneer for merging material science with artistic creations, it is our mission to be the most sustainable fine jewellery brand in the world - one that goes beyond setting new standards never considered possible or even imagined before; to inform, educate and inspire new ways of thinking and operations with global reach, acknowledgement and impact that not only safeguard both planet and people, but also enable creativity, innovation and tradition to flourish and prosper into the future.
In arguably the most luxurious industry in the world, one that is historically ridden with the most complex environmental and ethical issues, Anabela Chan leads by example to set new standards with global resonance that not only drives other heritage and traditional brands to do better, but also inspires and fosters countless new businesses to take the leap towards a sustainable future.
Leading the transition towards a circular economy and safeguarding environment and natural resources through the concept of ‘Waste to Wonder’, Anabela Chan pioneered recycled metals in fine jewellery with the introduction of the world’s first refined aluminium recycled from soda cans, after 2 years of in-house research and development; to utilising salvaged gold and silver from technological waste; to working with diamonds synthesised from air using carbon dioxide capture technology developed by Climeworks in Switzerland as a by-product of reverse climate pollution; to championing regenerative pearl farming in French Polynesia that restores coral reefs and brings back near extinct species in the process with Kamoka Pearls.
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
Anabela Chan guides suppliers towards sustainable practices and advocacy of equal and respectful working conditions from 100% renewable energy powered operations, to waste reduction and elimination through circular practice, to setting new traceability standards in the complex artisanal mined gemstone supply chain through a partnership with Moyo Gems, the GIA, the global non-profit PACT and Everledger – utilising Blockchain technology to guarantee full traceability of a definitive 100% of our natural gemstone collection, to the very miner themselves in Tanzania and Kenya whereby they are guaranteed to receive 95% of the export price of each stone, equating to 3-10 times what they would conventionally receive - A world’s first never deemed possible before. Whilst in the process, also provides educational workshops, safety trainings, physical toolkits and investment in local communities from healthcare facilities to school meals for at risk children - where it matters most.
With a mission to offer a different perspective in the fine jewellery industry - challenging the past for a better future – Anabela Chan presents equally beautiful, empowering and red-carpet worthy creations that move away from the traditional mining industry; at the same time opening the notoriously exclusive doors of high fine jewellery to a much wider, younger and global demographic through a more accessible price point never possible before. Presenting a new Modern Luxury through the lens of nature, always asking the difficult questions that beauty and luxury should not cost planet and people – and in the process raising the stake and call for responsible practice and transparency in the industry through public awareness and education.
