Mermaid's Tale. A collection inspired by the Ocean, Made with Ocean waste metals, Pledged to restore Ocean ecosystems.

The Ocean has the power to reverse climate change. The Ocean produces up to 80% of the air we breathe.  Coastal ecosystems such as kelp forests, mangroves and seagrass can sequester up to 20 times more carbon per acre than land forests.

One mangrove tree stores approximately 1 ton of CO2, creates critical habitat for marine life and provides sustainable employment for local communities.

For every creation sold, we pledge to plant 100 Mangrove SeaTrees in the Ocean via The SeaTrees Project.

So, 1 AC Mermaids Tale jewel purchased = 100 mangrove trees planted = 100 tonnes CO2 stored.

Together with SeaTrees, we work with local communities on Biak Island, West Papua Indonesia to restore and protect coastal ecosystems.

The SeaTrees project is restoring and protecting 26 hectares of degraded mangrove forest in the West Papua region of Indonesia.  Here, local villagers are employed to plant a diverse mix of mangrove species, creating jobs, healthy ecosystems and habitats. The region’s current mangrove estuaries are 75% deforested, which is why restoration is so important.

SeaTrees is the first blue-carbon, ocean focused platform allowing brands and individuals to take action on climate change by planting and protecting SeaTrees in coastal ecosystems.  The process also improves water quality, biodiversity of plants and animals, as well as offering economic opportunities for local communities.  In turn, this project directly enables the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), designed to transform our world for good by 2030.
